CHIC ROSE PONCHO

Keep shoulders warm with this Chic Rose Poncho.  This poncho features a lace pattern in sizes to fit Children 4 to 12 and Women Small to 3X.

INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:

  1. Instructions are written for the smallest size with changes for larger sizes given in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.
  2. For ease in working, circle all numbers pertaining to size you’re making.
  3. To avoid mistake(s), count stitches in each round, or row when finished.
  4. Ch 1, ch 2 at beg of rnd(s) does not count as st.
  5. Cowl Neck is worked back and forth in rows, then edges are seamed to form a tube. Stitches are worked along one edge of the tube to begin the body of the Poncho. The body is worked in rounds down to lower edge.

CHILD PONCHO

Cowl Neck

Ch 13.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook (skipped ch does not count as a st) and in each ch across – 12 sts. Turn.

Rows 2–18 (20, 20, 22, 22): Ch 2 (does not count as a st), working in back loops only, hdc in each st across – 12 sts. Turn.

Joining Row: Fold piece, bringing first row and last row together with stitches matching, working through both thicknesses and into remaining loops of sts in first row and back loops only of sts in last row, slip st in each st across to join first and last row. Do not fasten off.

Body

Rnd 1 (RS): With seam of cowl neck facing the outside (right side), working into ends of rows across edge of cowl, ch 2 (does not counts as dc), * dc in end of next row, (dc, ch 1, dc) in end of next row; rep from * around; join with sl st in first dc – 27 (30, 30, 33, 33) dc, and 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) ch-1 spaces.

Rnd 2: Ch 2, * FPdc around next dc, skip dc, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next ch-1 space, skip dc, rep from * around; join with sl st in first FPdc – 36 (40, 40, 44, 44) dc, 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) FPdc and 9 (10, 10, 11, 11) ch-1 spaces.

Rnds 16 (18, 20): Ch 1, * sc in next st, sc in next ch-1 space, sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 sc in next ch-2 space, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc in next ch-1 space; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc – 150 (170, 190) sts. Fasten off.

FLOWER

With A, ch 4, join with slip st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, (sc in ring, ch 3) 6 times; join with slip st to first sc – 6 ch-3 spaces.

Rnd 2: Slip st in first ch-3 space, ch 1, (sc, 3 dc, sc) in same space and in each ch-3 space around; join with slip st to first sc – 6 petals.

Rnd 3: Ch 1, work BPsc around first sc on Rnd 1, ch 4, (work BPsc around next sc on Rnd 1, ch 4) around; join with slip st to first BPsc – 6 ch-4 spaces.

Rnd 4: Slip st in first ch-4 space, ch 1, (sc, 5 dc, sc) in same space and in each ch-4 space around; join with slip st to first sc – 6 petals. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Sew flower to poncho. Weave in ends of the yarn.
