FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
7.0” x 65.0” around /18 cm x 165 cm around;
MATERIALS
Lion Brand Heartland Yarn (100% acrylic 5 oz/142g; 251 yds/230 m); Worsted weight;
(113 Redwood) – approx. 2 balls;
CROCHET HOOK
J/10 (6.00 mm) crochet hook; OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
GAUGE
12 dc and 6 rows to 4”/10 cm
Note: Be sure to check your gauge before starting to crochet. If the gauge is larger, change to a smaller hook size. If it is smaller, change to a larger hook size.
INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:
- To avoid mistake(s), count stitches in each row when finished.
- Ch 1 at beg of rows count as sc. Ch 2 at beg of rows count as dc.
SCARF
Row 1: Ch 32, dc in fourth ch from hook, dc in next st, * ch 2, skip next 2 sts, dc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * across – 16 dc, 7 ch-2 sps. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: Skip first 2 sts, 3 sc in next ch-2 space, * ch 1, skip next 2 sts, 3 sc in next ch-2 sp, rep from * across, end ch-1, skip next st, sc in top of turning ch 2 – 23 sc, 8 ch-1 sps. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3: Dc in first ch-1 sp, * ch 2, skip next 3 sts, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, rep from * across, end ch 2, skip next 3 sts, dc in last ch-1 sp, dc in first ch of turning ch 2 – 16 dc, 7 ch-2 sps. Ch 2, turn.
Next Rows: Rep last two rows until scarf measures 65.0” (165 cm) from beg, or until you are satisfied with the result.
Fasten off, leaving 20” tail for sewing.
FINISHING
Thread the long yarn end with a yarn needle. Attach two ends of scarf together being careful not to twist scarf, then join ends with whip stitches. Fasten off and weave in both ends of the yarn.
