TRIANGLE LACE SHAWL

The lace pattern and fringe makes this Triangle Lace Shawl looks attractive, stylish, and extremely charming. The pattern uses superfine weight yarn, although any yarn can be used; always use an appropriately sized hook.

SIZE AND FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Width – 47”/ 120 cm
Length – 20”/ 51cm (no including fringe)

MATERIALS
Amazing Lace Yarn
(70% Acrylic, 30% Nylon 5.3oz/150g; 1017 yrds/930m);
Super Fine weight;
(148 Turquoise Shell) – approx. 1 ball;

CROCHET HOOK
D (3.25mm) crochet hook; OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

GAUGE
18 dc and 9 rows to 4”/10 cm
Note: Be sure to check your gauge before starting to crochet. If the gauge is larger, change to a smaller hook size. If it is smaller, change to a larger hook size.

INSTRUCTIONS
Note: A shawl worked from bottom to top.

SPECIAL STITCH

Picot = Ch 3, sl st into third ch from hook.


SHAWL

Triangle Lace Pattern

(See Chart bellow)

Row 1 (WS):  Ch 7 (skipped ch 3 count as first dc), dc in first chain. Turn.

Row 2 (RS):  Ch 3 (count as first dc), 8 dc in chain space – 9 dc. Turn.

Row 3:  Ch 3, Picot, (dc in next dc, Picot) 7 times, end dc in turning ch 3 – 9 dc and 8 Picot. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 6 (skipped ch 3 count as first st), skip next dc, (BPdc around post of next dc, ch 3, skip next dc) 3 times, end BPdc around turning ch 3 – 5 BPdc and 4 ch-3 spaces. Turn.

Row 5:  (Ch 6, dc) in first st, (sc in next ch-3 space, ch 3) 3 times, end sc in last ch-6 space, (dc, ch 3, dc) in third ch of turning ch 6 – 5 chain spaces, 4 dc and 4 sc. Turn.

Row 6:  Ch 3, 8 dc in next ch-3 space, sc in next ch-3 space, (ch 3, sc in next ch-3 space) twice, end 9 dc in last chain space – 18 dc, 3 sc and 2 chain spaces.

Row 7:  Ch 3, (Picot, dc in next dc) 8 times, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, (dc in next dc, Picot) 8 times, end dc in turning ch 3 – 18 dc, 16 Picot, 2 sc and 1 ch-3 space. Turn.

Row 8:  Ch 6, skip next dc, *(BPdc around post of next dc, ch 3, skip next dc) 3 times, BPdc around post of next dc*, skip ch-3 sp; rep from * to * once, end ch 3, BPdc around turning ch 3.

Row 9:  (Ch 6, dc) in first st, * (sc in next ch-3 space, ch 3) 3 times *, sc in next ch-3 space, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next space between two BPdc; rep from * to * once, end sc in last ch-6 space, (dc, ch 3, dc) in third ch of turning ch 6.

Row 10: Ch 3, 8 dc in next ch-3 space, * sc in next ch-3 space, (ch 3, sc in next ch-3 space) twice, 9 dc in next ch-3 space; rep from * once more.

Row 12: Ch 6, skip next dc, (BPdc around post of next dc, ch 3, skip next dc) 3 times, * BPdc around post of next dc, skip ch-3 sp, (BPdc around post of next dc, ch 3, skip next dc) 4 times; rep from * across, end BPdc around turning ch 3.

Row 13: (Ch 6, dc) in first st, (sc in next ch-3 space, ch 3) 3 times, * sc in next ch-3 space, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next space between two BPdc, (sc in next ch-3 space, ch 3) 3 times; rep from * across, end sc in last ch-6 space, (dc, ch 3, dc) in third ch of turning ch 6.

Row 14: Ch 3, 8 dc in next ch-3 space, * sc in next ch-3 space, (ch 3, sc in next
ch-3 space) twice, 9 dc in next ch-3 space; rep from * across.

Next Rows: Repeat Rows 11-14 for Triangle Lace Pattern until Shawl 20”/ 51cm measure from beginning, or length you desire. Fasten off.

FINISHING

Fringe
Cut strands 8”/20cm long. Using three strands for each piece of fringe, attach the fringe evenly spaced across short edges of Shawl.
